I’m currently the Director of my district’s Teacher Center.
I taught 7th and 8th grade social studies in the classroom for 12 years and used technology quite a bit. But, like too many other teachers, a lot of what I did never left my classroom. Now its time to branch out.
In an attempt to do just that I’ve joined a few educational social networks, got a twitter account, and have been reading lots of blog posts through my Google Reader account. After weeks of reading, reading, reading, I’d like to do some writing.
I’ve been thinking a lot about if it is possible, or even nececssary, to try and standardize some of the practices endorsed by Web 2.0 proponents. Can we agree as an educational community that there are some “musts” to this new learning?
Looking at this question through different lenses produces widely different views.
I’m looking for some focus.
